Man charged with attempt on life of policeman arrested in Moscow

The Moscow Main Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee continues an investigation in an attempt on the life of a police officer (article 317 of the RF Penal Code). The charges of the said crime were pressed against Alexander Milirashvili, who had been detained earlier. In addition investigators are checking if Milirashvili was involved in impeding professional activity of journalists (article 144 of the RF Penal Code).

Today following a request of investigators a court ruled to remand the man in custody pending trial.

It was reported that TV journalists tried to take an interview from a man guilty of a traffic accident in a hospital. However, some people dressed in civilian clothes not only did not let them to approach the man, but destroyed coverage the journalists had already made. After that, they refused to show documents to police officers called by the journalists, and moreover one of them left the hospital, set in a car and ran over a police officer who tried to stop him. He dragged the police officer on the bonnet of the car a few meters and was off.

At present a set of investigative operations are underway to find out what exactly happened.
