Investigators assign forensic inquiries in A-321 crash case

The Russia’s Investigative Committee continues investigating two cases joined in one suit opened in crimes under article 263 and part 3 of article 238 of the RF Penal Code (violation of safety rules for traffic and operation of an aircraft entailing death of two or more people; unsafe services) after the crash of Airbus A321 flight 9268 en route from Egypt to Saint Petersburg.

More than 130 bodies and over 40 fragments of bodies have been delivered today in Saint Petersburg. DNA samples were taken from relatives of all the killed in the crash. Forensic medical tests are already underway, the investigators have also ordered dactylographic and DNA tests. The investigators have started the identification of the bodies and them the bodies will be passed to the relatives.

As in any other air crash case, the Investigative Committee is considering all versions with no exceptions. It will be possible to talk about any key theories only after a number of inquiries have been complete, the main of which is decoding the black boxes and after the results of all necessary forensic tests have been received. This is why the versions put forward by different sources can only be based on assumptions and conclusions, but not on an objective picture, while investigation has been and will be guided by facts and objective data. To make final conclusions about the causes of the crash and guilt of certain people is exclusive competence of investigating bodies.
