The investigating bodies of the Crimean Main Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee have charged Director of the Koktebel Gliding Center with a crime under part 3 of article 238 of the RF Penal Code (providing services that do not meet safety standards entailing death of two or more people).

According to investigators, between February and Novenber 2015, the accused violated the Federal Law “On Protection of Consumer Rights” and provided people with transport services that did not meet safety standards. In the evening of 4 November 2015, a pilot and three passengers were killed in a crash near the village of Otvazhnoye, Kirovskoye District. The private plane had taken off without permission.

Following the request of investigators a court has ruled to remand the accused in custody pending trial. The investigators are looking into the details of the crash. The investigation is ongoing.
