The Trans-Baikal investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee have opened an investigation against an investigator of the juvenile delinquency department of the Chita Office of the Russian Ministry of the Interior suspected of a crime under paragraph “a” of part 3 of article 286 of the RF Penal Code (abuse of authority using force).

According to investigators, on 4 October 2015, at night, a 27-year-old investigator, abused her authority when she used force against a 15-year-old inmate of V.N. Podgorbunsky Chita Aid Center for Neglected Children of Trans-Baikal Territory.

Today the investigators have detained the said police officer, and are going to request a court to put the woman in custody pending trial.

At the present time, investigative operations are underway to find out all the circumstances of the crime. The investigation is ongoing.
