As a result of well-planned and conducted investigative and search operations, investigators have held two local residents aged 29 and 37. According to investigators, at night of 20 November 2015, the two men arrived to the household of the 88-year-old veteran of the Great Patriotic War in Tolstoy street in the town of Belorechensk to steal some money. Having broken the door and gotten inside, they beat the elderly man demanding to give them his money. They search the house, stole the money and fled. The veteran suffered a brain injury, a jaw fracture and other injuries. A social worker came to his house next morning and found him like that. She called an ambulance and police.

Custodial restraint is under discussion at the moment. Considering the newly acquired information, investigators are thinking over reclassifying the crime to a more serious one. The said individuals are now being checked by investigators on having been involved in other similar crimes, including the open stealing of money from the victim in October 2013. The investigation is ongoing.
