Probe launched in Moscow Region in unsafe services entailing death of child during practice in swimming pool

The investigating bodies of the Moscow Region Main Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee have opened a criminal investigation in reckless homicide of a child (paragraph “c”, part 2 of article 238 of the RF Penal Code).

According to investigators, on 23 November 2015, a 9-year-old boy during a practice in a sports group held in the Saturn swimming pool in the town of Ramenskoye, was left without proper attendance of the stuff, passed out and went to the bottom of the pool. In a short time the child was pulled out of water and received first medical aid. Then he was taken to a hospital and died there on 7 December.

By now, the investigator has requested documents of the Saturn sports and health complex and the Saturn Sports School for Children and Youths, has received information about the children who attended the swimming classes with the victim. Interviews and other investigative operations are planned to find out the details of the incident. The investigation is ongoing.
