Probe finished in Ulyanovsk Region against group local residents assaulting police officer

The Ulyanovsk Region investigative bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee have finished investigation against local residents Eduard Zinnurov, Kamil Aleyev, Rustam Yakhiyev, Ivan Semyannov and Marat Yafarov. Depending on the role of each one, they are charged with crimes under paragraph “a” of part 3 of article 111 of the RF Penal Code (deliberate grievous bodily harm committed by a group of people), part 1 of article 116 (battery), part 1 of article 119 (threat to kill), paragraph “a” of part 2 of article 163 (extortion committed by a group of people).

According to investigators, on 30 December 2014, Zinnurov, Yakhiyev and Aleyev in Robespierre street in Leninsky district of Ulyanovsk during a conflict sued a non-fatal gun to threaten to kill and wounded 27-year-old police officer Andrey Arapov and his 21-year-old brother. In addition, the investigators revealed, that between 16 and 18 February 2010, Zinnyrov, Yafarov and Semyannov acted as a criminal group to extort 50 thousand rubles from the parents of a minor from Kazan.

The investigator has enough evidence, so the criminal case has been forwarded for the indictment to be approved and will then be sent to court to be tried on the merits.
