The Chairman of Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation met with senior assistants of heads of 28 regional investigations directorates that came for postgraduate training. The classes for the staff in charge of media outreach take place in the Moscow Academy of the Investigative Committee of Russia.

The customized training programme is aimed at improving of performance of the senior assistants in carrying out designated tasks related to coverage of Investigative Committee activities, at their professional development, and at perfection of use of modern telecommunication systems in their everyday work.

During the meeting with representatives of Chukotka Autonomous District, the Kabardino-Balkar Republic, Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District, the Mari El Republic, Krasnodar and Khabarovsk Territories, Murmansk, Magadan, and Ulyanovsk Regions, and a number of other areas, Alexander Bastrykin once again focused the attention of media relations assistants on key priorities.

In particular, speaking on protecting the rights of children, the Chairman underlined that during nine months of 2018 investigators of the Investigative Committee of Russia have already launched over 15,000 of probes into offences against children. “Today your work must be focused on effective cooperation with volunteer organizations; use the help of journalists to spread information on how to prevent crimes: in many cases it only takes diligence and, of course, caring,” the Chairman specified.

The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia spoke in detail about interaction with citizens. “This is the most important activity; please deliver this message to your executives. They have to know what concerns people in their regions,” the Head of the Committee demanded. Today there is a number of official channels of communication to reach the Investigative Committee and the Chairman directly. One more way to contact the Chairman in person was implemented this year through VK social network. During five months over 1,700 messages were already received and the Chairman views them personally on a daily basis.

At that, the Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia provided specific examples of strict response measures against lack of adequate reaction by regional investigations directorates to complaints, which people have to report to the Chairman in person. In relation to this he once again requested the attending staff members to convey the importance of this work, including online channel of communication, to their executives.

Alexander Bastrykin noted that a true officer must not only investigate probes in professional manner but also stay concerned about human misery and try to secure rights of victims, especially when socially unprotected categories of citizens are concerned. He also reminded once again how important it is to pay attention to veterans and children issues. “We don’t divide children on ours and someone else’s,” he underlined. “We have to keep helping children’s homes under our patronage and to visit victimized children providing them with attention and support.” One must not forget about carrying out and covering of work for development of educational institutions and interaction with cultural institutions that contribute to patriotic upbringing of the young generation.

The lecture was followed by a lively discussion during which the senior assistants asked questions they were concerned about and received comprehensive replies.

In conclusion Alexander Bastrykin expressed his confidence that the obtained information will enable the staff members to provide qualified performance in establishing the rule of law, keeping up with new trends and technologies. A number of senior assistants (assistants) were commended officially by the Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia for their sincere service and effective performance.
