Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia makes working visit to the Republic of Belarus

Today, upon invitation of Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Belarus Ivan Noskevich, Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia Alexander Bastrykin took part in a round table devoted to relevant issues of personnel training for preliminary investigation bodies and crime prevention that took place in the heroic city of Brest.

Belarus is an important partner and ally of Russia. Cooperation between our countries is based on a solid foundation of friendship and good neighborliness.

It should be noted that the invitation to personally participate in these events once again confirms the commitment of our Belorussian colleagues to maintain and develop bilateral contacts between the Investigative Committees of Belarus and Russia.

During the meeting, Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Belarus Dmitry Mezentsev. The round table meeting was also attended by Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia Hayk Grigoryan.

Trilateral meetings of Chairmen of the Investigative Committees in the Russia-Armenia-Belarus format have become a constructive international platform for the establishment of full-fledged contacts between law enforcement bodies of the CIS countries.

Following the meeting, the parties expressed a mutual interest in the efficiency improvement of preliminary investigation bodies.

During the trip to Belarus, the Chairmen of the Investigative Committees visited Belovezhskaya Pushcha and the Brest-Hero Fortress Memorial Complex where they placed wreaths and flowers to the Eternal Flame and commemorated the people killed during the Great Patriotic War.
