The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia awards the young man that stood up for a girl in subway

The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation Alexander Ivanovich Bastrykin awarded the Committee medal "Valor and Courage" to Roman Yuryevich Kovalev, who showed courage and indifference in the Moscow metro when three citizens threatened the women in a carriage. Roman Yuryevich reprimanded the attackers, for which he was severely beaten.

The award ceremony took place at the F.I. Inozemtseva, where Roman Yuryevich is now undergoing treatment. The event was also attended by the head of the Educational Outreach Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia Sergey Vasilyevich Petrov, the chief doctor of the hospital Arnold Eduardovich Markarov and the deputy chief doctor for medical affairs Sergey Sergeyevich Andreev.

Alexander Ivanovich Bastrykin noted that the courageous act of Roman Yuryevich, committed in conditions dangerous for life and health, deserves the highest moral and ethical assessment. "From the bottom of my heart I present you with this award. I would like to point out that thanks to you and your actions we managed to apprehend the suspects. I wish you a speedy recovery, and the bruises will heal, scars adorn men," A.I. Bastrykin said. He added that Roman Yurievich's determination prevented even more serious consequences of the incident.

The head of the Investigative Committee of Russia also talked to doctors of the hospital.

To remind, the Central Office of the Investigative Committee of Russia continues to investigate a criminal case about an incident in the Moscow metro. Based on the evidence collected by the Main Investigative Department, three persons involved in the criminal case - Magamaali Khanmagomedov, Ibragim Musalaev, Hasan Zalibekov, were charged with committing crimes under Part 3 of Art. 30, part 2 of Art. 105, part 1 of article 318 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (attempted murder; threat of violence against government officials).
