Regional Departments of the IC of Russia Continue to Provide Assistance to Citizens Arriving from LPR and DPR

In connection with the events in the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics, citizens, including many children, were forced to leave their homes, fleeing from massive shellings by the Ukrainian military. Staff of the IC of Russia in different regions, where shelter is provided to the disadvantaged citizens, provide all possible assistance and support to the arrivals. The officers of the Investigative Committee always consider it their primary duty to ensure the protection of the most vulnerable persons’ rights and interests, and this time – in a situation when the elderly, children, and women could suffer guiltlessly – the employees of the investigative authorities could not stay away from someone else's misfortune.

In a number of regions, upon the arrival of citizens on the territory of the Russian Federation, the heads of territorial investigative departments arranged personal receptions.

Thus, Head of the Investigative Department of the IC of Russia for Ryazan Oblast Vladimir Anatolyevich Nikeshkin held a personal reception of citizens who arrived from the Lugansk People's Republic at the Kolos children's health center, at the Ryazan Institute for the Development of Education, as well as at the Solnechny children's health and education center. More than 30 residents of the LPR applied for a personal reception on issues of receiving of the Russian Federation citizenship, employment, medical and social security, obtaining maternity capital, registering as a person who has received temporary asylum, as well as on issues of providing psychological assistance to children. All the applicants were given exhaustive explanations on the questions asked.

Head of the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for Oryol Oblast Pyotr Ivanovich Yudin also visited the citizens who arrived from the Donetsk People's Republic at one of the temporary housing facilities, where a personal reception on assistance was organized. During the meeting, after hearing out the stories of each of the arrivals related to the current events in Donbass and the trials that have befallen the people, Pyotr Ivanovich Yudin expressed universal support and readiness to provide full assistance with any possible issues. Also, at the expense of voluntary donations from employees of the investigative department, goods necessary for further education, as well as sweet treats, were purchased and given to the children.

Of course, the staff of the investigative authorities of the IC of Russia pay special attention and provide care to children and adolescents who find themselves far from their homes, including orphans who require even more support.

Officers of the Investigative Department of the IC of Russia for Nizhny Novgorod Oblast visited teenagers aged 15-17 years, belonging to the category of orphans and children left without parental care, who were forced to leave the Donetsk People's Republic. Accompanied by their mentor, having travelled overcome many kilometers by car and rail, they arrived in Nizhny Novgorod. The children were accommodated in the Special Rehabilitation and Educational Institution “Avtozavodsky Social Services House for Children “Nadezhda.” They finally felt the help and support of people who are happy and ready to assist them in anything. Having met all the children, having talked to each of them, the investigators of the regional investigative department learned about their lives and hobbies. In addition, they made lists with the wishes of teenagers regarding about the purchase of necessary things and household items for them. The director of the institution, Mikhail Ivanovich Zhinko, assured that the children were provided with comprehensive assistance, that a comfortable stay and education were organized for them. Additional sports and educational activities are arranged for the children. All the teenagers welcomed the Investigative Committee staff with interest and warmth, thanking them for their attention.

Employees of the ID of the IC of Russia for the Republic of Mordovia visited citizens who came to the republic, many of whom left their homes with only documents and a minimum of personal belongings. Representatives of the department brought clothes, bedding, fruit, and drinking water. They purchased baby food for the youngest children. A mother of many children expressed gratitude to the department's staff for purchasing medicines for a small child. They brought a babywalker for 10-month-old Sonya, who is learning to walk on her own. Also, the investigators of the territorial investigation department equipped eight kids for a preschool facility, having purchased the necessary clothes for them. Volunteers, healthcare professionals, and social services staff work at temporary housing facilities, while caring residents of Mordovia come to help them.

The staff of the Investigative Department for the Karachay-Cherkess Republic did not stand aside and joined the collection of humanitarian aid for residents of the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics.

On the orders of the Chairman of the IC of Russia, investigators in the regions continue to collect and register evidence of crimes against the peace and security of mankind on the territory of Ukraine and Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics. Thus, employees of the ID of the IC of Russia in the Kaluga, Voronezh and Rostov Oblasts, in the Republic of Mordovia and other regions question the refugees as witnesses and recognize them as victims if there are grounds for it. All arrivals are provided with the necessary advisory assistance.
