Chairman of the Investigative Committee Takes Part in a Meeting of the Interdepartmental Commission of the Security Council of the Russian Federation on Improving the State Migration Policy

Alexander Ivanovich Bastrykin, the head of the Investigative Committee of Russia, has taken part in a meeting of the Interdepartmental Commission of the Security Council of the Russian Federation on improving the state migration policy chaired by Dmitry Anatolyevich Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation.

The event was attended by federal ministers, heads of agencies and departments. The meeting focused on the most pressing issues of improving the migration policy in Russia, including taking into account the sanctions campaign being carried out by foreign countries.

The panelists articulated the need for efforts aimed at preventing further growth of criminal manifestations among migrants. In order to improve the state policy in this area, the Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia made a number of proposals regarding the regulation of migration processes. Particular attention was paid to the issues of conducting ongoing operational and preventive measures in order to identify persons illegally present on the territory of the Russian Federation, items and substances prohibited in civil circulation, and extremist materials.

The meeting developed a set of measures aimed at improving performance in this area, which would form the basis for the decision of the operational meeting and subsequently would be enforced.
