Mr. Alexander Ivanovich Bastrykin, Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia, took part in the meeting of the National Antiterrorism Committee (NAC), held under the leadership of Mr. Alexander Vasilyevich Bortnikov, Chairman of the National Antiterrorism Committee, Director of the FSB of Russia.

At the meeting, issues related to the prevention of terrorism among the youth by State Bodies were considered.

Speaking at the meeting, the Chairman of the Russian Investigative Committee noted the importance of permanent educational and upbringing work with young people: "Young people should not only be the object of educational activities, but they also should be active participants of public life".

Only an integrated approach to education can contribute to the formation and development of correct value orientations, the acquisition of critical thinking skills, the ability to navigate a large flow of information, to distinguish false information and reliable one, disseminated by anti-Russian propaganda.

The Chairman of the Investigative Committee stressed that the department has been engaged in the upbringing of the younger generation for more than 10 years.

Nowadays, Officers of the Russian Investigative Committee and students of Educational Institutions of the Department actively support volunteer activities aimed at helping the injured residents of Donbas and Ukraine, provide assistance to military personnel who were injured, and who are undergoing the treatment in hospitals.

The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia reminded that the Investigative Committee supported the initiative to create the All-Russian Movement of Children and Youth, and he hopes that this organization will be effective and useful for young people. At the same time, it is important that the mentioned organization works in real life, but is not just a formal one. In order to do this, it should be Headed not by Officials, but by the most competent representatives of young people with an active civic position, who have the necessary professional skills and a broad outlook, who are an example for their comrades and who can help them in choosing a life path. The Head of the Department expressed the hope that this movement will also help the revival and development of forms of student self-government in educational institutions. Such measures, of course, must help in counteracting the involvement of young people in illegal activities.

Following the meeting of the NAC, it was pointed out, that the systematic collaborative work of all State Bodies and Public Institutions will allow developing effective measures aimed at counteracting terrorism among the youth.
