The Chairman of the Investigative Committee takes part in a meeting of Presidential Council of the Russian Federation for Cossacks

Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia Mr. Alexander Ivanovich Bastrykin took part in the video conference meeting of the Presidential Council of the Russian Federation for Cossacks.

The meeting was opened by Assistant to the President of the Russian Federation, Chairman of the Council Mr. D.Yu. Mironov. Welcoming remarks were delivered by Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Mr. D.N. Chernyshenko, Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the North Caucasian Federal Okrug Mr. Yu.Ya. Chaika, Chairman of the Synodal Committee of the Russian Orthodox Church for Cooperation with the Cossacks, Metropolitan of Stavropol and Nevinnomyssk Kirill. Within the main part of the meeting on the participation of the Russian Cossacks in a special military operation, the ataman of the All-Russian Cossack Society Mr. N.A. Doluda and other speakers from the leadership of public authorities, law enforcement services and law enforcement agencies.

The Chairman of the Investigative Committee noted that the Department is actively cooperating with the All-Russian Cossack Society within the Cooperation Agreement. Officers and students of specialized cadet classes of the IC of Russia and Cossack youth associations take part in heroic-patriotic and festive events together. Mr. A.I. Bastrykin cited data on the active volunteer activities of cadets and students of departmental educational institutions who provide assistance to the wounded in military hospitals, as well as orphans and refugees from the republics of Donbas.

Raising the issues of criminal investigations of cases on the crimes of Ukrainian nationalists, the Chairman of the Russian Investigative Committee stated that today several hundred Officers of the Investigative Committee are on duty on the territory of Donbas and Ukraine, including investigators, forensic experts, and criminologists. The investigation of more than 100 criminal cases on crimes of this category has already been finalized. Work on this direction continues, the investigation documents the facts of criminal activity committed by the Kiev regime, consolidates the evidence base, the generated files are transferred to colleagues in the DPR and LPR for subsequent referral them to the court.

Taking into account the establishment of new investigative directorates of the Investigative Committee of Russia on the territory of the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics, Zaporozhye and Kherson oblasts, staffing is on its underway, where the most energetic, experienced and skilled officers of the Department will be sent.

Concluding his speech, Mr. A.I. Bastrykin highlighted aspects of providing legal guarantees for those who are now at the front line and for those who are preparing to join the ranks of participants in a special military operation. The Chairman of the Investigative Committee made a proposal to inform the military investigating authorities about the facts of violation of the rights of members of Cossack associations regarding financial security, material allowances and other issues related to the fulfillment of a civic duty to protect the civilian population from the actions of the fascist Kiev regime.
