Mr. Alexander Ivanovich Bastrykin, Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, took part in the meeting, which was held at the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation and was dedicated to the celebration of the Lawyer's Day. The event was attended by Mr. K.A. Chuichenko, Minister of Justice of the Russian Federation; Mrs. T.N. Moskalkova, Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation; Mr. A.D. Zhukov, First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma; Mr. A.A. Gostev, Director of the Federal Penitentiary System of Russia; Mr. D.V. Aristov, Director of the Federal Bailiff Service of Russia - chief bailiff; Ms. T.Ya. Khabrieva, Director of the Institute of Legislation and Comparative Law under the Government of the Russian Federation; representatives of the Administration of the President of the Russian Federation and the Government, Federal Ministries and Departments, the Federation Council and the State Duma.
Opening the event, the Minister of Justice of the Russian Federation Konstantin Anatolyevich Chuichenko read out a Congratulation on the Lawyer's Day on behalf of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, in which it was noted that this holiday “is intended to emphasize the important role of the Legal Community in the life of our country. Representatives of various legal professions firmly guard the Law, contribute to the strengthening of Statehood, and provide legal support for the activities on business and the social sphere. This work requires deep knowledge, honesty and decency, indifference and justice, adherence to the best traditions of domestic jurisprudence.” Sincere words of gratitude were addressed on behalf of the President of the Russian Federation to Veterans of the Legal Corps, experienced, competent and dedicated professionals, mentors of the young generation of lawyers.
Mr. K.A. Chuichenko noted that "being a lawyer is a huge responsibility. All legal professionals perform important work every day. The enforcement and improvement of legislation, the effective protection of the rights and freedoms of citizens directly depend on its quality. Therefore, we must remember that the order in the legal system and its stability, the clarity and unambiguity of laws contribute to the stable development of the Country, the comfortable life of people and the high public confidence in the State."
During the event, Mr. K.A. Chuichenko presented Mr. A.I. Bastrykin, Chairman of the Russian Investigative Committee, the Departmental award of the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation "Mikhail Speransky medal". The Head of the Russian Investigative Committee thanked the Minister of Justice of the Russian Federation for the high award, emphasizing that our departments have one goal: "This is Justice and Legality."
In the meeting it was also noted the necessity to continue modernizing the Legislative System so that people feel protected. It is important to remain fair due to resolve all these problems effectively, maintaining humanity and personal involvement.
