Mr. Alexander Ivanovich Bastrykin, Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, visited the Hospital for War Veterans No. 2 in Moscow. The visit was also attended by the Head of the Directorate for Educational Work, Hero of Russia Sergey Vasilyevich Petrov, Officers of the Main Directorate of the Investigative Committee, Chairman of the All-Russian public organization Commonwealth of graduates of orphanages "Children of the whole country ", member of the Public Council under the Russian Investigative Committee Mr. Albert Maratovich Sarbalaev, Chief Physician of the city of Moscow "Hospital for War Veterans No. 2 of the Department of Health of the City of Moscow" Ms. Vera Rostislavovna Shastina, medical workers of the hospital, veterans of the Great Patriotic War, as well as students and cadets of the capital's educational institutions of the Russian IC.
The Head of the Department congratulated the leadership, medical staff and veterans on the upcoming holidays. The Chairman of the Russian Investigative Committee noted that the outgoing year has become really difficult for our country. Mr. A.I. Bastrykin reminded, that today Russian servicemen are defending their homeland from the Nazis, as in the years of the Great Patriotic War, and they becoming worthy successors of their glorious ancestors. He stressed that veterans are the pride of Russia. Our country has become a powerful and prosperous state thanks to their military prowess and selfless work, and the younger generation got the opportunity to live and fulfill their potential in a Free State.
The Chairman of the Russian Investigative Committee visited the veteran of the Great Patriotic War, Ms. Maria Alexandrovna Gorbunova, within his visit to the hospital and participation in the All-Russian charity event "Christmas Tree of Wishes". It is difficult for her to walk due to her advanced age, but she is full of optimism to this day. Mrs. Maria Alexandrovna wants to continue to keep an active lifestyle, do her routine things and not feel limited in her abilities. Mr. A.I. Bastrykin fulfilled her New Year's wish by presenting her a wheelchair and a walker that she had asked for. Mrs. Maria Alexandrovna warmly thanked the Head of the Department and shared her memories of her Military Front-Line Past. She told the guests how she got into the air surveillance in 1942, warning and communications division, which was stationed in Moscow, then she acted as part of the propaganda team in hospitals and on the front line. Her contribution to the Great Victory did not go unnoticed. Mrs. Maria Alexandrovna was awarded the medal "For Military Merit". The Chairman of the Investigative Committee, in his turn, awarded the veteran with the Departmental Medal "Valour and Courage". Awards of the Investigative Committee of Russia were also presented to other veterans of the Great Patriotic War, home front workers, veterans of military operations and investigators. In addition, medals "For Assistance" were awarded to the Deputy Chief Physician, Heads of Units of the hospital, specialists and medical staff of the institution.
After the awards, the hospital hosted a gala concert organized for veterans and hospital workers. Сongratulations were made by orphans in the final part of the event, in their congrats they expressed their good wishes for health and success in the coming year for everyone. The meeting ended with a tea party and a sincere, kind-hatrted conversation.
Head Physician of the Moscow State Budgetary Health Institution "Hospital for War Veterans No. 2 of the Moscow City Health Department" Ms. V.R. Shastina thanked Mr. A.I. Bastrykin and the staff of the Investigative Committee of Russia. She noted: "Once again you came to us. You have come to support us all, despite the most difficult situation, the huge workload, you provide support not only to our patients, but also to us, because now we are all like one family!" Separate words of gratitude were expressed by the Head of the Medical Institution to the Officers of the Department for their assistance in the delivery of humanitarian cargo to the fighters, which are performing the tasks of the Special Military Operation.
