All-Russian conference on role of Investigative Committee in national security of state held in Moscow

The all-Russian Conference: The Investigative Committee of Russia: its place and role in ensuring national security of the state, held by the Moscow Central Office of the Investigative Committee together with the Outstanding Military and Naval Commanders of Russia, interregional NGO, took place today.

The Conference was attended by: Vice-Chairman of the Investigative Committee Alexander Fyodorov, Head of the Moscow Central Office of the Investigative Committee Alexander Drymanov, President of the Outstanding Military and Naval Commanders of Russia, interregional NGO Alexander Sukharev, Chancellor of the All-Russian State University of Justice Olga Aleksandrova, Chief Inspector of the Ministry of Defense Viktor Barynkin, Chairperson of the State Duma Committee for the CIS, Eurasian Integration and Compatriot Ties Leonid Slutsky, member of the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation Anatoly Kucherena, First Vice-Chairman of the State Duma Committee for Constitutional Laws and State Building Alexander Ageyev, Chancellor of the Russian New University Vladimir Zernov, as well as heads of the divisions of the Investigative Committee, lawyers, scientists and other guests.

The conference discussed enhancing the role of the Investigating Committee in protection of the national sovereignty of the Russian Federation, backbone and coordination functions of the Investigative Committee in the system of the national security institutions and other issues.

The participants of the Conference made reports noting the timeliness and importance of the conference. Representatives of the State Duma and Civic Chamber pointed out problems in the area of geopolitical confrontation between East and West, the circumstances hampering economic development of the Russian Federation which put issues related to national security of the country at the head of strategic priorities.
