In Moscow, probe launched after child gets badly injured in park

The Moscow Directorate of the Investigative Committee has opened a criminal investigation in a crime under Part 2, item “c” of Article 238 of the RF Penal Code (fulfillment of work or provision of services that do not meet safety standards and entail grievous bodily harm to a child) after a 6-year-old boy was run over by a train for children in one of Moscow parks.

According to investigators, on the evening of 2 May 2016, a train for children ran over a 6-year-old boy in one of Moscow parks. It has been established, that at the moment of the accident the boy was riding a scooter. The parents and eye-witnesses called an ambulance immediately and reported the incident to the police. The boy was taken to a hospital in grave condition and is getting all necessary aid.

During the inquiry the investigators are going to check carefully into all the details of the incident. They are going to assess the actions or omission of the officials in charge of safety in the park. The investigation is ongoing.
