More crimes revealed in actions of former head of Syktyvkar administration Roman Zenishchev

The Komi Republic Office of the Investigative Committee has revealed that Roman Zenishchev took more bribes for illegal actions, so another criminal investigation has been launched over a crime under Part 4, item “d” of Article 290 of the RF Penal Code (bribery).

According to investigators, Zenishchev took cash bribes from a group of people including Aleksandr Bondarenko between 31 March 2006 and 21 March 2011 for providing advantage in the bids for municipal passenger bus transportation in Syktyvkar and for ensuring that OOO Syktyvkaravtotrans won the bids. Over the said period of time he received at least 2 million rubles.

Those who gave the bribes are now also under investigation over a crime under Part 2 of Article 291 of the RF Penal Code (giving a bribe to an official for illegal actions).

Bondarenko is in custody pending trial.

The operative support of the investigation is provided by the officers of the Komi Republic Office of the Federal Security Service.

Necessary investigative operations are underway to get and catalogue evidence.

Zenishchev is being held in a pretrial detention center and there is a sentence that has entered into legal force.
