The Moscow Directorate of the Investigative Committee has opened an investigation in violation of fire safety rules under part 3 of Article 219 of the RF Penal Code.
As became known earlier, a fire happened in a building on Yaroslavsky Highway in Moscow on the morning of 7 January 2017.
According to preliminary information, 3 dead bodies were found on a fire scene. 9 people were evacuated, three of whom were taken to hospital and 6 others required medical aid on the fire scene.
Investigators of the Moscow Directorate of the Investigative Committee and responders are now working at the scene. A number of initial investigative operations are underway to find out all the circumstances surrounding the fire. The investigators are considering different versions of the fire, including a domestic one, a technical and others. A number of forensic inquiries are going to be run to find out victims’ cause of death. The investigation is ongoing.
