Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia puts the process of investigation of two Moscow and Khabarovsk Territory probes under supervision

Today a federal TV channel broadcast a story of a girl from Moscow who had run away from home in 2016 as a juvenile after accusing her parents of regular tortures and keeping her in a cage for a long period of time. It was said in the studio that the girl had indeed been kept in the cage but for a single night because of fear for the lives of the family members since someone had found her diary where she had described means of murdering her relatives. The girl had been placed in a psychiatric facility and run away after getting out of it. The Moscow Main Investigations Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia is working on a probe into torture of the girl. The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia put the process of the investigation under the supervision and instructed the Direction of the Moscow Main Investigations Directorate to check all arguments provided by journalists.

The journalists also reported a woman whose ex-husband took their underage daughter to South-East Asia without warning. The girl’s mother contacted law enforcement bodies. The Head of the Khabarovsk and Jewish Regional Investigations Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia held a personal reception of the woman that resulted in launching a probe under Paragraph E of Part 2 of Article 126 of the Criminal Code of Russia. The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia instructed the Central Office of the Committee to supervise the process on this probe.
