The Head of the Department will be reported on the investigation of the light aircraft ancident in Tatarstan, which resulted in fatalities and injuries

The Central Interregional Investigative Directorate for Transport of the Investigative Committee of Russia has initiated a criminal case with regards to the aviation ancident involving a light aircraft in Tatarstan. The case is based on signs of a crime stipulated by Part 3 of Article 263 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (violation of traffic safety rules and operation of air transport, causing the death of three persons by negligence).

According to the investigation, on the afternoon of July 10, 2024, a light aircraft performing a sightseeing flight made a hard landing near the village of Kamskoye Ustye. As a result of the ancident, the aircraft sustained severe technical damage and caught fire. Three people, including a minor, died at the scene. One man survived and was taken to a medical facility for treatment.

The Head of the department instructed Acting Head of the Central Interregional Investigative Directorate for Transport of the Investigative Committee of Russia, S.P. Kondratyev, to submit a report on the progress of the criminal investigation and the circumstances of the incident.
