In Sverdlovsk Region investigators get information that Armed Forces of Russia had no hand in disappearance of An-2 in June in Serov

The investigating bodies of the Urals Transport Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee are investigating a criminal case over disappearance of An-2 plane with passengers from the airport of Serov on 11 June 2012. The case was started over a crime under part 3 of article 263 of the RF Criminal Code (violation of safety and operation rules for air transport entailing by negligence death of two or more people).

During the investigation, relatives of those who were aboard the missing plane appealed to the senior officials of the Urals Transport Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee to check information on possible involvement of militants of RF Armed Forces in disappearance of the plane piloted by Khatip Kashapov with 12 passengers aboard.

The check has found out that anti-aircraft guns in the radius of 250 km around the airfield of Serov were not used. There is so far no information on involvement of servicemen in disappearance of the An-2.
