Pre-investigating check launched into derailment of 11 carriages of passenger train between stations Kislyakovskaya and Krylovskaya in Krasnodar Territory

Investigating bodies of the Southern Transport Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee have launched a pre-investigating check into derailment of 11 carriages of passenger train No 140 going from Novosibirsk to Adler, from which 5 carriages fell on the railways at 1,461st km at the span of stations Kislyakovskaya and Krylovskaya in Krasnodar Territory.

It has been preliminarily found that on 7 July 2013, at about 5 pm 11 carriages of passenger train No 140 going from Novosibirsk to Adler derailed at 1,461st km at the span of stations Kislyakovskaya and Krylovskaya in Krasnodar Territory with 5 carriages falling on the railways. The train had 19 carriages. No casualties were reported. 25 people sought medical help, 15 of them were hospitalized. The passengers were accommodated at the stations krylovskaya and Kushchevskaya, an additional passenger train is being organized to deliver people to Adler. According to preliminary data the causes of the derailment might have been faultiness of railway vehicles or railroad bed.

At present the examination of the scene and adjacent territory is underway, checking activities are underway to find all the circumstances of the accident. A procedural decision will be made after the check.
