Man held on suspicion of killing an underage in Domodedovo, Moscow Region

The Moscow Region investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee continue investigating a criminal case started over part 2 of article 105 of the RF Criminal Code (murder aggravated by tape) when on 15 July 2013 about 10:30 PM a dead body of a 14-year-old girl with numerous stabs at the bank of a pond in Aviatsionny micro-district of the town of Domodedovo.

Experienced criminologists of Moscow Region Main Investigations Directorate were involved in this investigation. As a results of searching and investigating operations the officers of Domodedovo Office of the Interior Ministry detained on suspicion of this crime a 19-year-old male acquaintance of the girl from Norilsk.

During the inquest, the investigators interviewed the girl’s friends and found that she had been associated with the 19-year-old man, but she had stopped this friendship as she was afraid of him. After that the investigators studied data on the victim’s phone calls the day before she got missed and found that the young man called her several times on 15 July before she left home.

The suspect was apprehended by the police officers during a search at his underage friend’s flat in Domodedovo. The underage, who hid the suspect, has previous police records as the accused of a crime under article 318 of the RF Criminal Code (use of violence against representatives of the authority).

At the moment the suspect is being transported to the investigating office for urgent investigating operations. He has already confessed to the crime, saying that during the rape the girl fiercely resisted and he stabbed her and then fled the crime scene.

Investigators are going to request the court to place the man into custody as a pretrial restraining measure. Investigation is ongoing.
