Moscow Region investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee are carrying out a pre-investigating check into an accident at the leg of superbike championship, in which an Italian motorcyclist was killed.

On 21 July 2013, around 3:15 PM, the accident at racing track Moscow Raceway in Volokolavsky district, Moscow Region was reported to the local investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee. According to preliminary information during a superbike racing qualifying lap one of the riders lost control of the motorbike and crashed into a bump stop at a great speed. Despite the medical assistance the man died at the scene.

Checks are underway to find the reasons of the accident. A procedural decision will be made based on the results of the check.
