Man detained earlier at Matveyevsky market place and suspected of underage rape arrested in Moscow

The investigating bodies of Moscow main Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee carry on investigating a criminal case against Magomed Magomedov. He is charged with a crime under paragraph “a” of part 3 of article 131 of the RF Criminal Code (rape of an underage).

According to investigators, on 26 July 2013, Magomedov saw a 15-year-old girl walking home in Misnkaya Street in Moscow. By force he brought the girl to the forest at the edge of the road. There he beat her up and suppressing her resistance raped. After that Magomedov ran away. On returning home the girl told her mother about what had happened and reported it law enforcement. On 27 July 2013, Magomedov was caught at the Matveyevsky market place in Moscow. During the questioning he confessed to the crime and gave details of it.

On the investigator’s request a court has ruled to place Magomedov in custody as a pretrial restraining measure. At present investigating operations are underway to find all the circumstances of the crime. Investigation is ongoing.
