Investigators getting ready request to arrest two suspects in attacking traffic police inspector in Moscow

In the morning of 3 August 2013, at 22nd km of the Moscow ring road (MKAD), the driver of a Mercedes pulled up sharply and caused an emergency situation between the two cars behind him. This happened near the traffic police check point. When the inspector headed from the check point to the place of accident two passengers of the Mercedes got out of the car and started beating him up, punching him in head and body without any reasons. The investigating bodies of Moscow Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee launched a criminal case into the incident over signs of a crime under part 1 of article 318 of the RF Criminal Code (use of violence against a representative of the authority) and article 319 (offence of a representative of the authority).

Both of the suspects – a man from Moscow born in 1981 and a man from Penza Region born in 1992 – were detained. They have already been charged and in the near future investigators are going to ask a court to place them in custody. Investigation is ongoing.
