Criminal investigation against former police officers of Ochakovo-Matveyevsky police station finished

Moscow Main Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee has finished investigating a criminal case against former police officers of Ochakovo-Matveyevsky district police station in the city of Moscow Vladimir Cherezov and Yuri Lunkov. They are charged with a crime under part 2 of article 293 of the RF Criminal Code (negligence).

According to investigators, the officers’ failure to discharge and improper discharge of their duties allowed Magomed Rasulov to beat up their colleague – an officer of criminal detection department, who was apprehending the man suspected of rape – and to walk away freely.

Both police officers are under arrest. The investigation has been finished and the case has been sent to the prosecutor to approve the indictment and then will be sent to court.
