Local man put on trial in Sverdlovsk Region for imprisoning his nephew

The Sverdlovsk Region investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee have finished investigating a criminal case against a 30-year-old resident of the village of Laya, Prigorodny district. He is charged with a crime under paragraph “e” of part 2 of article 127 of the RF Criminal Code (illegal deprivation of freedom of underage).

According to investigators in the evening of July 20, 2013, the accused, being in the yard of a detached house on Krasnoznamyonnaya Street in the village of Laya, illegally imprisoned his 7-year-old nephew. The man tied around the boy’s neck a chain fastened to the house and fixed it with a latch hook. The boy was chained about 20 minutes and then released by the accused on the requests of his neighbors, who saw what had happened. It has been found that the man chained the boy, as he himself puts it “for educational purposes” as the boy had stolen cigarettes from him and thrown stones in the windows of his house.

The investigator has gathered enough evidence, therefore the criminal case with the approved indictment has been forwarded to court to be tried on the merits.
