The Military Investigations Department of the Russia’s Investigative Committee in Alabinsky garrison has launched three criminal investigations against military men of military unit 77707 – Captain Roman Belyayev and Lieutenants Roman Obyedkov and Vitaly Belan. They are suspected of a crime under part 3 of article 160 of the RF Criminal Code (misappropriation or embezzlement, that is stealing of other’s property entrusted to the guilty one, committed by a person using their official position).

According to investigators, in July 2013, Obyedkov, Belan and Belyayev acting separately stole diesel fuel from an engineer vehicle BAT-2, designed to prepare the grounds of military unit 23626 for hosting the military and sports show Tank Biathlon. At present it is known that the officers stole over 7 tonnes of diesel fuel.

At present investigating operations are underway to find all the circumstances of the crime. Investigation is ongoing.
