Criminal case opened in Moscow against yet another plane brawler

Moscow Inter-Regional Transport Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee has opened a criminal case against a 31-year-old unemployed resident of Moscow Region Anatoly Zinovyev. He is suspected of a crime under article 319 of the RF penal Code (offence of a representative of authority).

According to investigators, on 6 October 2013, Zinovyev was a passenger aboard a Boeing-767-300 of Severny Veter airlines travelling from Sharm El-Sheikh (Egypt) to Moscow (Russia). He was drunk, which is offensive for dignity and public morality, and violated public order and aircraft safety rules. Due to Zinovyev’s wrongdoings, when the plane landed at the Sheremetyevo airport the crew called 3 transport police officers. In response to the officers’ legitimate demand to proceed for further investigation to the police office, Zinovyev publicly offended each of the officers on duty, in vulgar and indecent form, in the present of no less than 3 crew members, by which he humiliated their honor, personal and professional dignity and affected the order of normal functioning and the authority of the bodies of authority they were representing.

At present investigating operations are underway to find all the circumstances of the incident. The investigation is ongoing.
