Head of local office of Russian Federal Service of State Registration, Cadaster and Cartography charged with abuse of office and fraud put on trial in Bashkortostan

The investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee in the Republic of Bashkortostan have finished investigating a criminal case against 52-year-old head of the local office of the Russian Federal Service of State Registration, Cadaster and Cartography Anatoly Lashov. He is charged with the crimes under part 1 of article 285 of the RF Penal Code (abuse of official powers) and part 3 of article 159 (swindling).

According to investigators in 2008-2009 Lashov in exchange for the general patronage over dealing with the matters on registration of real estate offered the head of Bykovsky Soviet of settlement to put in the extracts from account books false information that the ownership right of constant life-long use of lands in the village of Ukman with the total area about 1 ha belonged to him, his wife, sister and cousin, and a former classmate. Later based on the forged documents the lands were illegally transferred to the possession of the official and his relatives and the friend. During the period of preliminary investigation he was suspended from his office and his real estate was arrested. The information on illegal transactions has been forwarded to the competent bodies for bringing actions.

The criminal case with the approved indictment has been sent to court to be tried on the merits.
