The investigating bodies of Moscow Main Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee have charged Sergey Mokhnatkin with the crime under part 1 of article 318 of the RF Penal Code (using force against a representative of the authority).

According to investigators, in the evening of 31 December 2013, during an unauthorized mass event in the center of the city the suspect hit twice a police officer in the face, while he was trying to stop him.

At present a number of investigating operations are underway to collect and consolidate evidence. Investigation is ongoing.
