In Moscow Region check underway into death of child locked in car

In the evening of 14 July 2014, the law enforcement bodies of Pushkino District, Moscow Region received a report that a 5-year-old boy had left his house in the village of Mitropolye for a walk and disappeared. The investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee for the Moscow Region launched a pre-investigating check.

During the search of an incident scene it has been established that the boy’s body was found in a trunk of a Ford Focus parked near the house. No visual signs of violent death were found on the body. According to the boy’s father, on 14 July 2014, he got a call from his wife telling that their son went missing and after that the man called the police. When the team arrived, an investigator asked to smash the front car window. During the examination of the car, the boy’s body was found in the trunk. The parents explained that they had often given the car keys to their son, so that he could play in the car. On 14 July 2014, the mother gave the keys to the boy and left him to be attended by his grandmother and went to get her other son in bed. The neighbors described the family as a positive one.

At present a forensic medical expert examination of the boy’s body is under way in order to find out the cause of death. A procedural decision will be made following the check.
