Criminal proceedings brought against official of Murmansk Region Ministry for Construction and Territorial Development and official of Property Relations Office of Kola suspected of taking bribes

The Murmansk Region investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee have opened a criminal case against a chief specialist of the Murmansk Region Ministry for Construction and Territorial Development and a chief specialist of Kola town administration on suspicions of a crime under paragraphs “a” and “c” of part 5 of article 290 of the RF Penal Code (receiving a bribe by a group of persons in a previous concert on a very large scale).

According to investigators, the officials took 650 thousand rubles as a cash bribe for agreeing a plan of building an automobile sales center in the town of Kola, Murmansk Region.

The fact of receiving and transferring the bribe was established with direct and active participation of operational services of the Office of the Ministry of the Interior.

At present investigators are going to file a request of restraint, are conducting investigative operations to find out all the circumstances of the crime and consolidate the evidence. The investigation is ongoing.
