Ex-chairman of Krasnoyarsk office of State Authorities Anti-Corruption Center found guilty of commercial bribery

A court has recognized the evidence gathered by the West Siberian Transport Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee sufficient to convict former chairman of Krasnoyarsk regional office of the NGO State Authorities Anti-Corruption Center Vyacheslav Stepnov. He was found guilty of a crime under part 1 of article 204 of the RF Penal Code (commercial bribery).

The court and investigators have found that in 2012-2013 Stepnov, being a founder of transportation companies OOO SVR and OO PSSV for a fee passed by him to one of senior officials of East Siberian Traffic Directorate – a structural unit of the Central Traffic Department, which is a branch of OAO Russian Railways, arranged so that his contractors were first to get fright carriages for transportation. As a result the conditions for carrier companies were uneven. The sum of the commercial bribe stood at around 2.5 million rubles.

The court has sentenced Stepnov to a fine of 30 million 68 thousand rubles and banned him from working in rail transport.
