In Moscow Region criminal investigation launched in murder of woman and her three children whose bodies found after fire

The investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee for the Moscow Region have opened a criminal investigation over the death of a woman and her three children in a fire as a crime under paragraph “a” of part 2 of article 105 of the RF Penal Code (murder of two or more people).

As it was reported earlier, on 7 September 2014 around 8:30 PM, there was a fire in a cottage in the village of Terekhovo in Khimki. After the fire was out dead bodies of the 43-year-old owner of the house and her three children – 3-year-old twins (a boy and a girl) and 12-year old son were found under the debris.

During the examination of the fire site and the bodies, the investigators found a synthetic wire tied around the woman’s neck in a double knot. A fragment of the wire and the documents of the residents were confiscated from the site. Investigators and criminalists continue working at the scene. A number of tests were assigned to find the cause of the fire and the death of victims.

A number of investigating and search operations are underway to identify the individuals involved in the crime.
