In Orenburg Region former head of municipality’s administration to stand trial for negligence

The Orenburg Region investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee have finished investigating a criminal case against former head of administration of Adamovka District Sergey Yavkin. He is charged with a crime under part 1 of article 293 of the RF Penal Code (negligence).

According to investigators, in 2013, while holding bidding and later while buying homes for orphans the administration of the district represented by its head overstated the cost of homes and spent too much funds from the budget of the region. The money was transferred to the accounts of contract companies that sold the homes. As a result the Orenburg Region budget lost over 3.5 million rubles.

While calculating the cost of a square meter of residence the price monitoring was not held and the lowering coefficient of the district (0.7) allowing purchasing residence at lower price was not applied.

At an investigator’s request a court put all the money on Yabkin’s accounts under arrest.

The investigators have gathered enough evidence, so the criminal case with the approved indictment has been sent to court to be tried on the merits.
