On 17 October 2014, one of news outlets published an article stating that it is impossible to live in a building in the town of Shumikha built two years ago for orphans by construction company OOO Novy gorod due to its technical condition. The Kurgan Region investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee have launched a pre-investigative check into the fact.

Investigators are checking the legality of constructing the said building, are taking measures to get hold of technical documents, as well as determining the condition of the building and why it is impossible to live in it. The investigators are also going to assess actions of officials of the town and district administration and employees of the said construction company. A procedural decision will be made following the check.
