In Kamchatka Territory Investigating Committee employees congratulated veterans and participated in ceremonial laying of wreaths on the eve of Victory Day

On the eve of the 69th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945, together with the Chairman of the Public Council under the Investigations Directorate O. Melnichenko, employees of the Investigations Directorate visited Great Patriotic War veteran Raif Sadrislamovich Zaripov and his wife - home front veteran Raisa Nagrtdinovna Zaripova.

Raisa Nagrtdinovna Zaripova was born in 1926 in Bashkiria, she was one of the seven children. In the mid-30s, the family moved to Irkutsk. From 1942, she worked at an aircraft plant. Raisa Nagrtdinovna Zaripova recalls that a working day lasted 12-14 hours. She worked at an aircraft plant until 1953.

Raif Sadrislamovich Zaripov was born in 1925. He joined the army in 1943 and got to the Karelian Front. He participated in the battles in Hungary and Austria. He made about 900 parachute jumps.

The Zaripovs have been living in Kamchatka since 1963. Raisa Nagrtdinovna Zaripova had worked in kindergarten till the age of 75. Raif Sadrislamovich Zaripov had served in the Armed Forces for nearly 40 years.

Also, members of the Karaga District Investigations Department of the Kamchatka Territory Investigations Directorate of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation congratulated Great Patriotic War veteran Valentina Nikolayevna Belichenko.

Valentina Nikolayevna Belichenko is a resident of the northern village of Ossora. She was born in 1931. At the beginning of the war she lived in the Altai Territory. Her father went to the front and died in 1942. Despite her young age, Valentina Nikolayevna Belichenko was involved in agricultural work from the first days of the war. In winter, together with other children, she was knitting woolen garments for the soldiers.

Along with sincere words of gratitude, employees of the Investigations Directorate presented flowers and gifts to the veterans and the home front worker.

In addition, employees of the Yelizovo Town Investigations Department of the Kamchatka Territory Investigations Directorate of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation participated in a ceremony of laying flowers at the obelisk to Yelizovo residents who had died during the Great Patriotic War and at the memorial plaque to P. Yakovlev.

The monument to Yelizovo residents killed during the Great Patriotic War was erected for the 35th anniversary of the Great Patriotic War in memory of 65 residents of Yelizovo who had died on the battlefields. The names of the dead are carved on the walls of the obelisk.

Pyotr Yakovlevich Yakovlev was a participant in the Great Patriotic War, was awarded the Order of the Red Banner, two Orders of the Red Star, the Order of the Patriotic War I degree, medals "For Military Merit", "For Victory over Germany", "For Victory over Japan", he had been heading the Council of the veterans of war and labor, armed forces and law enforcement agencies of the Yelizovo Municipal District for two decades. In 1998, P. Yakovlev was given a title of Honorary Citizen of the Yelizovo Municipal District.
