Suspect of killing three in Khimki detained

On 15 January 2015, law enforcement officials detained on the border between Moscow and Tver regions a suspect of killing three people in Khimki.

It has been reported earlier, that on 10 January 2015, dead bodies of three members of a family with stabbed wounds to their heads were found on a balcony of a flat in the town of Khimki. The investigating bodies of the Moscow Region Main Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee launched a criminal investigation in a crime under paragraph “a” of part 2 of article 105 of the RF Penal Code (murder of two or more people).

During the examination of the crime scene the bodies were identified as three local residents: a man and his wife aged 63 and 62 and their 40-year-old daughter. Knives and other objects relevant for the investigation were found and confiscated.

During efficient investigative and search operations, investigators have managed to identify and detain the suspect. It is the victims’ son.

During an interrogation he told that for a long time he had disliked his parents because they had humiliated him and that was why he had decided to kill them.

At present investigative operations are underway to consolidate the evidence. The suspect is expected soon to be taken to custody pending trial.
