Criminal investigation launched in light plane Cessna-150 crash in Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area – Yugra

The investigating bodies of the Ural Transport Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee have launched a criminal investigation in a crime under part 1 of article 263 of the RF Penal Code (violation of safety rules of traffic and operation of an aircraft entailing grievous bodily harm by negligence) following a crash of a Cessna-150 light plane that happened on 18 January 2015.

According to investigators, about 01:20 PM, local time, the Cessna-150 piloted by its 49-year-old owner and carrying a 30-year-old passenger crashed 35 km away from the town of Surgut near the Sukhoy Agan lake in Surgut District. Both men were taken to Surgut clinical traumatology hospital in grave condition.

At present investigative operations are underway to find out all the circumstances of the crash and its causes. The investigation is ongoing.
