In Moscow initial inquiry underway into fact of injury received by child in zoo

On July 5, 2015, a 3-year-old boy, being in the Moscow zoo at Bolshaya Gruzinskaya with his parents, was injured as a result of the collapse of a metal structure, enclosing the area of construction and repair works. The child accompanied by his mother was taken to a nearby city hospital, where he was preliminary diagnosed with "closed head injury". Currently, the boy's condition is satisfactory, he is at home with his parents.

Investigative bodies of the Main Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the city of Moscow are carrying out a preliminary inquiry into this fact to establish, among other things, the circumstances of the construction and operation of the specified enclosing structure.

The audit is a procedural decision.
