Passenger of Krasnoyarsk-Domodedovo flight to stand trial for using force against transportation police officer

The investigating bodies of the West Siberian Transportation Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee have finished investigating a criminal case against a passenger of flight No 76 of Siberia airlines from Krasnoyarsk (Yemelyanovo) – Moscow (Domodedovo). The man is charged with using force against an officer of examination office of airport police department in the city of Krasnoyarsk (part 1 of article 318 of the RF Penal Code).

According to investigators, on 17 May 2015, at about 8:40 AM, local time, the 32-year-old man was drunk aboard a plane waiting for take-off. He took the seat that was not on his boarding pass. After several attempts made by a flight attendant to have the man take his seat, the aircraft commander made a decision to refuse to fly the passenger. Officers of the transportation police got aboard the plane to accompany the man out the plane to the airport. The man refused to obey legal requirements of the police officer and hit him with his head bruising his face.

The investigators have enough evidence, so the case with the approved indictment has been sent to court to be tried on the merits.
