Law-enforcement authorities in Sochi have got a report that a dead body of a small girl was found in an aqua park with signs of drowning. The Krasnodar Territory investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee launched an investigation in a crime under paragraph “c” of part 2 of article 238 of the RF Penal Code (providing services that do not meet life or health safety standards entailing death of a person).

According to investigators, on 19 July 2015, a 3-year-old girl was in the aqua park in the village of Esto-Sadok with her parents. Somewhere in the afternoon the child was left for some time unattended by any of the adults or staff of the aqua park. She fell into a swimming pool and drowned there.

At present a number of investigating operations are underway to find out all the circumstances of the incident and identify reasons and conditions that contributed to the crime. The investigators are also going to give a legal evaluation to the actions of the officials responsible for safety of children in the aqua park. The investigation is ongoing.
