Man accused of kidnapping children’s home inmate arrested in Orenburg Region

A court has granted a request of the Orenburg Region investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee asking to place Sergey Ushkov, 41, accused of a crime under paragraph “e” of part 2 of article 126 of the RF Penal Code (kidnapping) in custody pending trial.

Ushkov, who was convicted of kidnapping and sec abuse of minors in 1999 and 2008, was held in the town of Chelyabinsk. The investigators questioned the man as the accused. He did not confess to the crime.

According to investigators, between 9 AM and 1 PM, 25 July 2015, Ushkov deceived and took away a 9-year-old boy from Abdulino orphanage.

The boy is now at the social rehabilitation center in the town of Orenburg. He feels well. Corresponding services will decide his fate.

The investigators of the regional Investigative Committee are going to carry out investigative operations with the accused in order to get and consolidate the evidence. The investigation is ongoing.
