The Ulyanovsk Region investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee have opened a criminal investigation in a crime under article 293 of the RF Penal Code (negligence) after a fire in pretrial detention center No 1 in the town of Ulyanovsk which according to preliminary information claimed lives of 4 detainees.

At present an investigative team is working at the scene, investigative operations are underway to find out what exactly happened there. The investigation is ongoing.
