Probe launched in Perm Territory in death of eight in fire

A fire started in a single-floor wooden single-family house in the village of Maykor, Yusva District at 11:10 PM, 16 September 2015. While putting it out, the firefighters found dead bodies of eight local residents (two women and 6 men) without any traumas of criminal nature. The Perm Territory investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee have opened a criminal investigation in a crime under part 3 of article 109 of the RF Penal Code (reckless homicide of two or more people).

According to investigators, the owners of the house and their friends had been drinking alcohol for several days.

Head of criminalistics department, most experienced criminalists, experts, officials of Kudymkar inter-district investigations office of the regional investigations directorate, employees of the Russian Emergencies Ministry and police are working at the scene. All the victims have been identified. The site is being examined for the evidence, necessary forensic inquiries have been assigned and witnesses are being questioned. The investigation is ongoing.
