Probe launched in attack on money collectors in Saint-Petersburg

The Saint-Petersburg Main Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee has opened an investigation over a crime under part 3 of article 30, paragraphs “a”, “f” and “h” of part 2 of article 105, paragraph “c” of part 4 of article 162 of the RF Penal Code (attempted murder and robbery).

The investigators have revealed that about 12:30 AM, 18 September 2015, an unidentified man set off a grenade when money collectors of OAO Inkokhran were loading money in a truck on the premises of Pepsi-Cola enterprise in 5th Verkhny alley. Two money collectors were taken to S.M. Kirov Military Medical Academy with missile wounds.

The attackers fled took off from the scene on an unidentified car. The money was not stolen as the victims hid behind the truck the doors of which were locked.

At present, the crime scene is being investigated, investigative and search operations are underway to find out all the circumstances of the crime and persons involved.

The investigation is under special control of the senior officials of the Saint-Petersburg Main Investigations Directorate.
